Positive Thinking Day

Positivity is the practice of being or tendency to be positive of optimistic in attitude.

I am a big believer of positivity and fate and the fact that both contribute to how happy your outlook of life is. Over the past few years, I have really seen the true effects of what a positive mind can do. It may not change the situation your in, but I feel it really does help you deal with the situation with a better attitude and outlook.

In today’s society, everything is looked upon in some sort of negative way. If you pick up a magazine or go online, all you see is articles about how bad people look, bad decision people have made ( no mention of probably all the good things they have done), article that tell us we aren’t pretty enough and ways we can make ourselves look more appealing for other people. Not only that, you have people on your social media spreading negativity, commenting nasty things on other social media. That needs to change! You need to cut the negativity down to the minimum if not completely out of your life. Unfollow those people, don’t read the articles.

I think the first way you can change your mind, and bring more positivity into your life is morning affirmations. You must view yourself in a positive light before you can view other things and situations with a positive light.

Literally, every morning, stand in front of your mirror and say to yourself….

  • I am enough
  • I am beautiful
  • I can do it
  • I will make myself proud today

Just the smallest positive change in your attitude towards yourself can do wonders. And once you do it, you realise it is not that difficult. Once you can be positive about yourself, you can transfer that towards to things and other people, by simply not judging someone by how they look, what they are doing, or what they are wearing!

Once you are able to do that, you will find that your mind will begin to go straight for the positives out of all the negatives. Sometimes, your mind will wonder and all you will see is the negatives, but you have to work hard and pull it back to the positives. I will take time and hard work. But once you can do it, you will become a different person!

I also believe fate plays a large part in this. For example, I may be in a really shitty situation right now, which causes a huge range of emotions to present themselves, but I know I have to go through this for a reason. This will teach me something new about myself and it’s going to make me stronger!! So don’t give up, always look on the positive side, or you will be a very miserable person if you don’t! It benefits you! Give it a go.

Tips to keeping a positive mind

  • Practice mindfulness
  • Meditate
  • Reduce unnecessary stress
  • Daily affirmations
  • Boast up others – don’t bring them down
  • Don’t read the article, unfollow those negative people
  • Write/Express yourself in a way you feel comfortable with
  • And most importantly don’t bottle it all up!!!
